The struggle against doping...
Raising awareness about doping and its consequences amongst the young players is very important to our tournament. The World Anti-doping Agency will hold a conference to raise awareness amongst the players and coaches about the dangers of doping.
Sports and culture make one...
Unfortunately the scheduled cultural visits had to be canceled due to bad weather. Only the visit to Roland could take place.
Place of honor for the disabled!
Handisport Tennis has always had a place of honor in the tournament and particularly in 2009 for its 20th anniversary with patron Mr. Jeremiasz.
Once again this year, the Stade Français put Handisport Tennis in the spotlight by welcoming Pierre Fusade as patron. For this 23rd edition, however, the tournament organized an activity, “an obstacle course” put together in partnership with the Lycee Toulouse Lautrec. In this activity, everyone will be able to experience first-hand the challenges that those in wheelchairs must face in their everyday lives.
The Perce Neige Association, founded by an ex-member of the Stade Français called Lino Ventura, participated in this 23rd edition with representatives of the Perce Neige de Sèvres Establishment. The first welcome center was founded by Perce Neige in 1982 in Sevres. Today, the establishments consist of two types of welcoming centers, of Vie and CITL (The Center for Work and Leisure). 32 people suffering from mental disabilities currently live there and benefit from individually tailored assistance. http://www.perce-neige.org
Several residents participated on a beautiful afternoon, raising awareness amongst the visitors of the tournament about mental disabilities
